Anyone else think the children's Halloween costumes that have the character or animal's head above the head/face of the child wearing it look super silly? It looks wrong. It looks like a totem pole. So maybe a totem pole version of this would be an acceptable costume.
And I understand that little kids are often more comfortable when their faces are not covered, but what about painting their face like a squirrel or whatever they are?
Personally, I think the kid in the costume pictured here looks kinda retarded.

When I was a kid my sisters and I always felt sorry for kids that had to wear store bought costumes at Halloween. My mom made every costume I ever wore and I loved them... The totem pole idea is the only one where the head thing would actually work. Maybe next year for big J. I'm still working on this year's outfit. :)
Not just silly, but creepy. And not in a good, Halloween-creepy kind of way.
And not just silly and creepy, but retarded, too. And not in a good, Napoleon Dynamite-retarded kind of way.
It's still better than those ones with the cheap plastic face mask and a plastic "tarp" you wear with it, like a Ninja Turle mask with a picture on your "tarp" of all the ninja turtles.
I never wore those though. I was just a vampire every year cause that only required fake teeth and my church clothes...and maybe a little blood makeup.
