1. Reed always liked to read and was great at drawing. (Maybe still?) At a Plavan art show, I saw a woman look at Reed's piece and say, "That boy traces very nicely!" What a dumbo, he drew it freehand!
2. When we first moved to Springville, I remember him listening to Elton John (the one with 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'), Rush and even Styx! (I listened to Olivia Newton John.) Later he moved on to Queen, Jethro Tull and I think Boston and Kansas.
3. I'd always thought he was quiet (well, compared to Scott, I guess) but he somehow made a lot of friends in high school and people thought he was pretty dang cool. Maybe he was!
4. In Edgemont, he drew and wrote lots of stuff about rock 'n' roll on his bedroom wall. He was in there a lot, but I don't blame him for not wanting to participate in the usual Family Fight.
5. Boy, did he lose weight in Japan! I remember going to the airport in Tucson when he returned and I thought he had a green skin tone, in addition to his clothes falling off him. It could've been the lighting, though.
6. He got very skilled in his Japanese, even writing in it. I think he was on a radio show In Japan, slept on a futon, and had rice paper walls. Or so I heard.
7. Reed Peterson's name is on UltimateGuitar.com. He is also the Director of Business Development in the greater Atlanta area for some company. He lives in northern Indiana, has an auto repair shop in Salinas, Utah and has beat Wild Bill Farrell and Frankie Buffington in boxing.
8. He does Family Home Evening with his family and makes a mean barbecued chicken.
9. Some of his sons are very accomplished at Guitar Hero.
10. He used to have a lot of hair.
11. This is what he looks like today:

Thanks! I should probably give some clarification on these, though.
1. I'm not as good at drawing things realistically, but my drawings have more impact now. Basically, they're more bizarre.
2. No, I didn't listen to Elton John in Springville. I was younger when I had that one Elton John album. Now I have none. Forever.
3. Maybe I had friends specifically because I was quiet?
4. Actually, the only thing I actually drew on the wall was that big, crazy-looking head that I stayed up all night drawing. I think I was eating Trix cereal while I did it.
5. I started out pretty skinny anyway, then lost a bunch of weight in Japan. That wasn't healthy.
6. I did a radio show for a year, and also did some TV. Basically, I got paid to play.
7. The Reed Peterson on Ultimate Guitar has horrific taste in music.
I also scored 6 goals in 2006, by the way.
8. You should try the steak!
9. Marina is the champ, though.
10. I still do, but it doesn't go quite to the top of my body.
11. No, this is what I look like today.

Happy birthday, Reed!

I DON'T THINK SO!!!!
Thanks for clarifying LeeAnn's list, Reed. I just remember that you were always such a sweet and dear boy, tender feelings and very, very smart! I love you.
And you wanted to be a pro baseball player. Sorry about that..we didn't get you adopted into a big league family or you might have made it. I'm glad you're ours! What ever happened to your dreams about being an architect? That looked promising for awhile, too. You could have been/be anything you want.

>I DON'T THINK SO!!!!
You haven't seen me for a couple of weeks. I've been under a lot of stress.
>I just remember that you were always such a sweet and dear boy, tender feelings
Yes, but I eventually got better.
>and very, very smart!
It would be rude of me to argue with you about that, so I won't.
>And you wanted to be a pro baseball player. Sorry about that..we didn't get you adopted into a big league family or you might have made it.
Or maybe given me genes that would make me a better physical specimen.
>What ever happened to your dreams about being an architect?
They went somewhere in a hand basket.
>That looked promising for awhile, too.
As did many other things in my life, almost all of which failed miserably! But that just gives me more material for funny stories, so it all worked out.
>You could have been/be anything you want.
Cary Grant?
Happy B-day! He is a good artist-I loved the Scalded Bufoon picture!
Ha ha, Reed, where'd you get that great photo of yourself?!!
And hey, it's good thing you have a better memory of your life than I do. Funny you remember having Trix when you drew the crazy head.
