The Huckster

Mike Huckabee ANNOYS ME. And he has big ears.

He seems like a decent man, although I would not vote for him because:

-- He's from Arkansas and past politicians from there have given the place a bad name.

-- Seems to play up his religious background in self righteous ways. "Well, I have a THEOLOGY DEGREE, so I know the Bible better than you do."

Pharisees in Christ's day also had advanced learning from the religious establishments of the time, yet Christ chose his apostles mainly from among the unlearned. Not to knock scripture study, I think it is vital to study God's word, but not as a means to put yourself above others.

-- Jimmy Carter was also highly religious. Baptist? Methodist? Can't remember. Anyway, his piety did not make him a decent president. No, no no, didn't help him at all!

-- Record of tax increases, along with various ethics issues related to money.

-- He's neither cute, nor tall. Now that Mitt guy, he's distinguished! (And is a lot more modest about his religious accomplishments.) Some say Obama is cute, but he kinda looks like a spider monkey (and has too much love for excessive government programs).

I do agree that it is good to have a leader who supports the Christian government set up by our founding fathers and cares about the lives of the innocent, but being a professional clergyman or pro-gun/pro-life ain't enough. I want someone who will be a strong face for America, stand up to foreign and domestic bullies and try to give more freedom to the individual, and less money and power to Congress and wasteful programs.

A lot of conservatives lately are bashing on Mormons again because of Mitt Romney, which makes me want to vote for him out of spite just because of how many 'evangelicals' or whatever hate Mormons. "Mitt needs to tell us, did he take an Oath of Vengeance on the United States?!" (They are referring to old endowment covenants, of which I'm not familiar, so I don't know how accurate their claims are.)
