1. Reed always liked to read and was great at drawing. (Maybe still?) At a Plavan art show, I saw a woman look at Reed's piece and say, "That boy traces very nicely!" What a dumbo, he drew it freehand!
2. When we first moved to Springville, I remember him listening to Elton John (the one with 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'), Rush and even Styx! (I listened to Olivia Newton John.) Later he moved on to Queen, Jethro Tull and I think Boston and Kansas.
3. I'd always thought he was quiet (well, compared to Scott, I guess) but he somehow made a lot of friends in high school and people thought he was pretty dang cool. Maybe he was!
4. In Edgemont, he drew and wrote lots of stuff about rock 'n' roll on his bedroom wall. He was in there a lot, but I don't blame him for not wanting to participate in the usual Family Fight.
5. Boy, did he lose weight in Japan! I remember going to the airport in Tucson when he returned and I thought he had a green skin tone, in addition to his clothes falling off him. It could've been the lighting, though.
6. He got very skilled in his Japanese, even writing in it. I think he was on a radio show In Japan, slept on a futon, and had rice paper walls. Or so I heard.
7. Reed Peterson's name is on UltimateGuitar.com. He is also the Director of Business Development in the greater Atlanta area for some company. He lives in northern Indiana, has an auto repair shop in Salinas, Utah and has beat Wild Bill Farrell and Frankie Buffington in boxing.
8. He does Family Home Evening with his family and makes a mean barbecued chicken.
9. Some of his sons are very accomplished at Guitar Hero.
10. He used to have a lot of hair.
11. This is what he looks like today:
